Details
Ananda Sagar: Dinajpur is a district of five seas. There are five dighis here. Although some distance away from the district town, these dighis have a history and tradition. Not the sea, but still known as the sea. The lakes are Ramsagar, Sukhsagar, Matasagar, Ananda Sagar and Zulum Sagar. Location of Ananda Sagar north of Shashra Union. Every year Hindus perform group worship and a one-day fair is held here. It is said that the then king of Dinajpur, Prannath Rani, used to come to this lake in a golden boat from Rajbari to Naubihar. That is why it is called Ananda Sagar. It is located north of Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College. The depth of this tank of 6 acres is comparatively less. At present fish is farmed in Ananda Sagar. The bank is on the verge of disappearing as no reforms have been made. There were many trees now.
